DEBORA FELLA

Her work focuses on the theme of memory and on the ridge between abstraction and figuration, questioning the image and its resolution. Debora Fella draws mostly small papers, in a contemplative mood; her painting has the taste of a nostalgic and muffled memory and it uses impalpable substances: powdered slate, charcoal and graphite. She moves between black and white, on the gray scale, between light and shadow to give shape to fragility: still lifes, portraits, seascapes, plants, fragments....

Her language approaches the suspended atmospheres of Giorgio Morandi and Luigi Ghirri, the silence of Claudio Parmiggiani and the visionariness of Odilon Redon, Roman Opalka and Alfred Kubin among others.

Debora Fella was born in 1990 in Milan, Italy.  In 2014, she received her postgraduate degree in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan. She lives and works in Milan.
